November 4, 2016 | PeopleShare hosted its 8th annual Xpert Café on November 3, 2016 at the Sheraton Valley Forge in King of Prussia, Pa. This year’s speaker, Jill Blashack Strahan, Founder & CEO of Tastefully Simple, Inc., addressed a crowd of over 200 people on the topic, “Simply Believe – Building a Winning Culture… It Can Be Done!”
Blashak Strahan spoke about her struggle to overcome multiple tragedies that occurred in her life, including the loss of her brother in a tragic accident and the sudden loss of her husband when their son was just 5 years old, and the financial and emotional strain of working through these losses in order to continue to build her own company. Determined to succeed, she dug deep and chose to use the deaths of those she loved as an inspiration to live her dreams.
Within 8 years, Blashack Strahan grew Tastefully Simple into a $100 million company. Even with this success, she learned that there was still plenty of room for improvement. When she decided to have her employees evaluate how they viewed her performance as a leader, she was devastated to learn that she didn’t receive a perfect score. But once again she took this experience and turned it into a positive, which only served to make her company and the relationship with her employees even stronger.
After the presentation, Blashack Strahan met with enthusiastic attendees and signed copies of her book Simply Shine: Stories That Stirred the Fire.
